All the development activity are carried out through our group organization V .W. S (Village Welfare Society).
A cancer screening camp was organized last month at Pancharul in Howrah district of West Bengal. This has been a joint effort in partnership with Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute, Kolkata. A team from the Institute came for the cancer screening . Women from age of 35-55 attended the camp.In India , it has been observed that among women, Cervical, Breast and Oral cancers are the three main causes of cancer related illnesses and death. In the rural areas the percentage of death relating to cancer is much higher as most of the cases goes unnoticed due to lack of infrastructure for detection of cancer. Our aim was to make these economically disadvantaged women aware of the decease and to screen them so that if there is any positive case detected, that cases can be taken forward for further treatment. On that day about 75 attended that camp but due to time constraint we could able to screen about 42 women. The result shows that among those women we have screened, 4 of them detected positive. These positive cases will now be taken to Chittaranjan Cancer Hospital , Kolkata for their treatment. We have been so far taken up various health related issues and gone to the extent of helping the poor by providing them of proper treatment for their illness and last month has been no exception to that. After this inspiring effort we have planned to roll-out the screening camp to other areas also. Next month we have planned to organize the screening camp at Udaynarayanpur in Howrah District.
